Barbara Heyel LMBT #12519

Barbara grew up in the Raleigh area and attended UNCW, where she studied Business Communication. She began her professional career in the hospitality industry, working in hotels and discovering how much she enjoyed connecting with people from all walks of life. That experience sparked a passion for serving others and creating positive, meaningful experiences.
After returning to Raleigh, Barbara built a successful career in several organizations before finding her niche in Human Resources for a building supply company. There, she focused on supporting employees and facilitating training programs, developing a passion for education, mentorship, and helping others grow. As the housing market declined and she witnessed the effects of chronic stress and the fast pace of modern life on those around her, she realized she wanted to make an even more direct impact on people's health and well-being.
That calling led her to attend the renowned Body Therapy Institute near Siler City, North Carolina, where she graduated in 2012 and became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist.
Barbara's training established a strong foundation in the power of intentional touch. She believes that purposeful, therapeutic touch helps calm the nervous system, build resilience, and restore the sense of safety and trust that supports healthy nervous system regulation. This philosophy has guided her practice throughout her career. In her experience, lasting improvements in pain and movement begin with creating an environment where the nervous system feels safe enough to allow meaningful change.
She specializes in working with clients experiencing chronic pain, structural imbalances, and nervous system dysregulation, blending a variety of evidence-informed bodywork techniques into individualized treatment sessions designed around each client's unique goals.
In addition to providing therapeutic massage, Barbara is excited to assist in developing client-centered medical massage treatment protocols that promote a consistent, safe, and professional experience for every client at Restorative Therapeutics. She will then be responsible for managing an on boarding and mentorship program for newly hired massage therapists, helping bridge the transition from massage school into clinical practice while fostering excellence, confidence, and consistency throughout the team.
